Parties, and Panels, and Pages! Oh, my!

As mentioned in a previous post, I co-founded a publishing/production company last year called Con Artist Entertainment.  Our 1-year goal has been to get a handful of comics finished, and on the table at MegaCon this March, and I’m happy to say that we’ll be meeting that goal.  I posted a couple news items about the convention on the Con Artist website, and this here is essentially a rebloggin’ of those updates:

First off, Saturday night, March 16th, Macabre Productions and Con Artist Entertainment are throwing the ultimate MegaCon after party!  For anyone attending the convention or in the Central Florida area, come party afterwards with your favorite Con Artist Network hosts!  All shows will be represented!  We’re also celebrating the one-year anniversary of Con Artist Entertainment, and—ahem—we like presents.  There will be snacks and a keg or two (but feel free to bring your own booze), and best of all, music!  That’s right.  Blues rockers Big Kettle Drum will be playing a foot-stomping set at the party!  The C.A.E. team and the guys from Untitled Nonsense are excited to throw this shindig we’re calling the “Con Carnage Carousal.”  More information on the party is coming soon, including the exact address.  I can’t wait!

MegaCon  Secondly, Martin and I, along with Untitled Nonsense’s Josh Fonner and Kris Baucom, Humanoids’ Jo Witherington, and Terry Cronin will be doing a MegaCon panel the following Sunday at 4:10PM.  The panel, titled “Death To Fanboys,” will be a discussion on the state of the comics industry, and the intolerant fanboy mentality that’s threatening to destroy it.  Fangirls are welcome, and we’ll have some free stuff to give away to attendees.  The hour will close with a no holds barred question and answer session, which I’m certain will get…erm, interesting.

Lastly, like I said at the top, we will have three books available to purchase at the show.  The Con Artist team and I have been burning the candle at both ends for weeks now getting these books ready, and we can’t wait to share them with the masses.  I just want to personally thank my fellow Con Artists for the long hours they’ve all put in to making this a reality for us.  Martin Dunn, Ashley Olien, Rob Torres, Jeremy Calderon, and Amanda Raquel, you guys have crushed it.  Thank you, everyone, for all the hard work.  The fruits of their labor, our “first wave” as it’s been labeled, are the initial issues of Joshua Black, The Zombie Squad, and Stronger than Fiction.  Here’s a sneak peek of the front and back covers for each of them:

Not bad, right?  We’re definitely excited about them.  Stay tuned here, and on Con Artist Entertainment’s Facebook and Twitter, for more updates as I get them. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope to see some of you at MegaCon!
